VIDEO: How to Work with Headers and Footers in MS Word

Printer-Friendly Format

In the templates, you'll see that the headers and footers have been used. To make changes, click on the Insert tab and in the Header & Footer area, click on Header or Footer. At the bottom of the dialog box, click on Edit Header, or if you've called up the Footer, Edit Footer.

This gives you access to the Header and Footer editing tools. To switch between the Header and Footer, click on the icon Go to Footer or Go to Header, depending on which is active. Once you've made your changes, click on the red icon Close Header and Footer.
